Introducing Hip Hop ‘New Syllabus’ Annual Exams

Classes

It has always been my aim to provide an enjoyable and safe environment for all the students of this school. The school instils confidence by reinforcing a positive attitude and working independently as well as in a team or group situation. Students are not forced into performing but are encouraged to be able to dance in front of their peers and eventually to an audience which becomes an enjoyable experience.

The tuition is caring and students are guided through the syllabus so that a sound understanding is reached when entering for examinations through the Royal Academy of Dancing. The understanding and effective use of the fundamentals of technique reflect the level of proficiency shown. The student must focus strongly on posture, placing, turnout and weight distribution showing the actions of the body in a coordinated display of movement.

When children first enter the school from 3 years of age the important aspect is enjoyment through dance and gaining confidence in this initial class. This enjoyment is carried through to the R.A.D. syllabus and students are encouraged to be involved with some discussion on technique, history and the ballet classics seen on stage. Their input is important as it is a vital part in a non-threatening environment.

Finally, another important aspect and aim of the school is to maintain a professional image and accurate teaching philosophies and methods that are up to date, giving the students first-hand knowledge on this beautiful and rewarding subject.
